Little Moments add up to Big Magic
Our most recognized program, the Community-Based Program, matches an adult volunteer with a child between the ages of 6-12. The child and mentor meet approximately 2-4 hours per week in the community and participate in activities that you both enjoy while making a difference in the life of that child! Activities such as putt-putt golf, fishing, festivals, playing board games, cookouts, baking cookies and movie nights are just a few of the possibilities. Referrals may come from parents, school personnel or community agencies.
You simply have to be 19 years of age, have a valid driver’s license, reside or work in the Greater Williamsburg area, and be able to make a one year commitment to a child. All volunteers must pass a series of background screening to include; Child Protective Services, Department of Motor Vehicles, Criminal History Report, and three (3) reference checks.
